Thebean to bar chocolate movement started in the 1990s and spread in the 2000s and 2010s. Around 2005, the label “bean to bar” was used to distinguish small batch chocolates from industrial chocolate. The label has since adopted the image of a business model with larger companies also using it on some of their product lines.
